During the wedding season’s downtime, I like to dig out some of my past work and retouch it a little. This time around, it was a family I worked with a while back. Amanda was looking for a Chicago Family Photographer and got in touch. She wanted to have a lakeside portraiture session near their home in Winnetka. The bright, hot and sunny day was perfect for their two children who vagabonded on the hot sandy beach and racing each other to climb the huge rocks lining the shore. They were having such a good time that we decided to take a walk along the shore to come closer to and stop to admire the ornate Temple, one of only seven Baha’i Temples in the world, up close, as well as the surrounding gardens.  Such a grand structure, especially juxtaposed against the bright blue sky. Here, we were able to take some intimate photographs of mother and son, father and daughter. There is something special about the connection there that can be observed in the photographs, especially the playful, tender moments between mother and son. I always enjoy working with families, and it was refreshing to see that they had put a lot of thought into their outfits which were color-coordinated and perfect to accentuate the location and time of year.  Enjoy!
