Kara and David’s River East Art Center Wedding was a classy one as far as Chicago weddings are concerned.  They held their ceremony in the intimate Covenant Presbyterian Church of Chicago after staging their first look atop the W Chicago Lakeshore’s  balcony overlooking Navy Pier, Ohio street beach and the beautiful Olive Park. after the ceremony, we were able to capture couple portraits around the city at various locations such as the Art Institute of  Chicago’s Garden and in front of the Chicago Sun Times building.

The day was non-stop action, which is how I like it.  The couple and the bridal party were fantastic to work with, and the beautiful day allowed for some dramatic images. I was specially fond of the superb outdoor available light for the making of candid portraits. As often it’s the case, the softened and diffused autumn light makes for great imagery. Being there to capture the raw emotions and the powerfull connections displayed during the ceremony at the church by family members was absolutely priceless.

The River East Art Center  where the reception was held is eclectic and modern, with dramatic columns and exposed wood beams.  The guests, as you can see, had a ton of fun interacting with the bride and groom on the dance floor, and enjoyed the ambiance which included a great view of the River as well as a glowing Chicago skyline. It was an honor to capture some of the priceless moments shared with the family members.  Enjoy!
