This story begins with a fun engagement session and ends at Chicago’s University Club – a classic and luxurious location close to Michigan Avenue. We were able to take group and getting ready shots in its library, a unique location with beautiful ambiance including floor-to-ceiling bookshelves and immense windows casting natural light all around. JoAnn’s bridesmaids and mother helped her to get ready while Jonathan and the guys gathered together to toast and have a bit of old-style fun, playing cards and pool in the billiard room with a life-size bear looking on from the corner.
The bride wore Jimmy Choos and a cathedral-length veil. The groom wore a fitted suit and sunglasses. They saw each other for the first time when JoAnn walked down the aisle of Holy Name Cathedral. During the ceremony, they shared special moments together, including family members joining them at the altar. Filipino special traditions added another layer of meaning to the union, including the draping of a cord around the couple to symbolize the bond of marriage as lasting forever and the draping of white tulle to symbolize unity. Later that evening, the University Club’s grand mosaic windows and stone arches served as a timeless backdrop to the celebration. Enjoy!
